Before You Come

You've got questions.
We have honest answers.

Walking into a new church is a lot. We know. Here's the truth about what Sunday at Emmaus is actually like. No spin, no sales pitch.

We're not a perfect church. We're a group of ordinary people learning to follow Jesus together. The only thing we ask is that you show up. We'll take it from there.

Whatever you're comfortable in. Seriously. We've got people in polos and people in flip-flops. Jeans and a t-shirt is completely fine. The goal is that you feel at home, not dressed for a performance.
Emmaus Kids runs every Sunday during the service for birth through 5th grade. Our team walks you through check-in step by step: allergies, special needs, all of it. Your kids will leave asking to come back.
We do pass an offering, but it's for people who call Emmaus home. If you're visiting, that's not for you. Don't feel any pressure. We're just glad you're here.
We meet in a house in Murfreesboro! Park at the southwest corner of Blackman High School and hop on our free shuttle for a quick 1-minute ride to the house. We're a church plant. We meet in a home for now, and honestly, we kind of love it.
Absolutely not. Whether you grew up in church or have never opened a Bible, you'll find a place here. Our messages are designed for people at every point on the journey, including the very beginning.

Step by Step

Your First Sunday
at Emmaus

Exactly what to expect from the moment you pull into the parking lot.

Step One: Arrive

Park at Blackman High. We'll take you from there.

Park at the southwest corner of Blackman High School in Murfreesboro. Our team will meet you in the lot and point you to the shuttle. It's a quick 1-minute ride to where we meet. Give yourself an extra 10 minutes your first time, especially if you have kids to check in.

Step Two: Settle In

Fresh coffee. Zero pressure.

Step inside and you'll find fresh coffee, friendly faces, and nobody trying to corner you. It's a house, so it feels different from what you might expect. More relaxed, more personal. If you want to fly under the radar, totally fine. If you want to meet someone, our welcome team would love to say hi.

Step Three: Emmaus Kids (If Applicable)

We take care of your kids like they're our own.

Emmaus Kids is for birth through 5th grade. Our team walks you through check-in, notes any allergies or special needs, and makes sure your kids are settled and happy before the service starts. You'll get a security code to pick them up at the end.

Step Four: Get Comfortable

Sit anywhere. We mean it.

We get going about 15 minutes early, so come in and grab a spot. It's a house, so there's no back row to hide in, but there's also no stage to get called up to. You'll find a mix of people: jeans, coffee cups, some with Bibles, some without. Nobody is going to ask you to stand up and introduce yourself.

Step Five: The Service

Worship. A real message. Real community.

Service runs about 75–80 minutes. Live worship first, some songs you'll know and some you won't. Then a message straight from the Bible that's honest, practical, and worth your time. No weird stuff. No pressure. Just an encounter with Scripture in a room full of people glad you came.
